Our Story

多年以后，当宇宸在 TurboTax 上勾选"Married filing jointly"的时候，会想起他在科大大二的化学实验课上，第一次遇见玥西的那个遥远的下午。

那时候，世界还很新。他们还没有一起在深夜的灯火下与托福GRE 搏斗，也没有在马里兰大学度过无数个做实验写论文的黄昏。少男少女，尚不知晓那个平凡的九月，竟是往后一场奇幻旅程的起点。

他们在佛罗里达的霍格沃茨城堡和对角巷流连忘返，在弗吉尼亚的旷野里观看麻瓜们的魁地奇世界杯；在北京的宫殿与玛雅的金字塔前驻足，在大都会博物馆与卢浮宫的长廊里，与文明迎面相遇。他们曾坐上两天两夜的火车横跨美国，看窗外掠过山川大河和阿米什人的家园；也曾走进纸醉金迷的好莱坞片场，寻找星光背后的梦境。

他们在科大美食广场的长椅上郑重刻下"昔年相望，共抵天涯"，也特意买下马里兰州的车牌（USTCers），只为纪念那段科里科气的岁月。从本科到博士，他们写给彼此的论文致谢，成了最正式的情书。

2025年11月，宇宸求婚了。从 2016 年《疯狂动物城》那场电影起慢慢积攒的默契，跨越十载飞跃大洋两岸的长跑，终于化作了相伴一生的承诺。

Many years later, as Yuchen checks "Married filing jointly" on TurboTax, he will remember that distant afternoon in a sophomore chemistry lab at USTC—the day he first met Yuexi.

The world was still new then. They had not yet battled TOEFL and GRE together under late-night lamplight, nor spent countless evenings at the University of Maryland running experiments and writing papers. Two young students, unknowing that an ordinary September would become the opening chapter of an extraordinary story.

They wandered through Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley in Florida, and watched the Quidditch World Cup—played by Muggles—in the open fields of Virginia. They paused before the palaces of Beijing and the Mayan pyramids, and came face to face with civilization in the galleries of the Metropolitan Museum and the corridors of the Louvre. They crossed America on a two-day train, watching mountains, rivers, and Amish homesteads blur past the window; they walked through the glittering backlots of Hollywood in search of the dreams behind the starlight.

On a bench at the USTC food court, they carefully carved the words: 昔年相望，共抵天涯 — "Across the years we looked toward each other, and together found our way to the horizon." They bought a Maryland license plate (USTCers) as a keepsake, to remember those wonderfully nerdy years. From undergraduate to doctoral dissertation, the acknowledgments they wrote for one another became their most formal love letters.

In November 2025, Yuchen proposed. The quiet understanding they had been building since a screening of Zootopia in 2016—a decade-long journey spanning oceans and continents—finally became a promise for life.
